Jim Nabors, “Gomer Pyle,” passes at age of 87
Actor and singer Jim Nabors, best known for his role as Gomer Pyle on the TV show “Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C.” passed away early Thursday morning at his home in Honolulu at the age of 87. He had been battling health problems for some time. Nabors first played “Gomer Pyle” on the Andy Griffith Show and then played Gomer on his own spinoff show, which ran for five seasons. Nabors was also a much loved baritone singer who released 28 albums and was honored with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame in 1991. Nabors is survived by his husband, Stan Cadwallader.
"Mr. Syd" is a native of Detroit, MI. He's been with Beasley for five years and has shows on Saturday morning from 7am-10am and Sundays from 7am-12 noon.
