In 2007 The National Heart Association declared the first Wednesday in April National Walking Day to help promote healthy living.
Let’s face it, the weather in Las Vegas is perfect! At some point today or this evening show your heart some love and take a 30 minute walk. Bring a friend, some water and I know your favorite pet would love to come along too!
- Grab the leash and take the dog out for a walk.
- Walk the kids to the park or playground.
- Forget about rock star parking. Park a bit farther from the entrance to your workplace, school, grocery store, restaurants, etc.
- Take the stairs instead of the elevator, even if just for one or two floors.
- Walk to a nearby restaurant for lunch or dinner instead of driving.
- Catch up with a friend by walking around the block while you chat on the phone.
- Do it tonight and I’ll see you on the trail!
