NEW YORK, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 05: Serena Williams of the United States celebrates after winning her Women's Singles semi-final match against Elina Svitolina of the Ukraine on day eleven of the 2019 US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on September 05, 2019 in the Queens borough of New York City. Serena Williams will get another chance to tie Margaret Court’s record and win her 24th major championship tomorrow at the U.S. Open. Serena powered past Elina Svitolina 6-3, 6-1 yesterday to move into the championship final. Serena will play 19 year old Canadian Bianca Andreescu, who’s making her first appearance at the U.S. Open. Serena has had a great tournament so far and has only been mildly tested, losing a set in the second round against Caty McNally. Other than that set, Serena has been dominant and will try again to tie Margaret Court’s record of 24 major titles. The record has eluded Serena so far as she has lost in the last two Wimbledon finals and in last year’s U.S. Open final. It’ll be another tough match for Serena against Andreescu, who has an Indian Wells title under her belt this year.
