The Washington Nationals beat the Houston Astros 6-2 last night in Houston in game seven of the World Series. Washington trailed 2-0 before seventh inning solo home runs by Anthony Rendon and Howie Kendrick tied the game. The Nats then scored one in the eighth and two in the ninth to secure the win and the championship. Washington pitcher Stephen Strasburg was named series MVP. Houston had home field advantage but Washington won all four road games. The championship is the first for Washington. In the NBA last night, Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors suffered a broken left hand during their game against Phoenix. Curry was going up for a layup but lost his balance while in the air. He used his hands to try and break his fall but Phoenix center Aron Baynes, who was challenging Curry on the shot, fell hard on Curry’s lower left arm and wrist. Curry is scheduled to have an MRI today and no timetable has been given for how long he could be out. Bad news for the Warriors, who are 1-3 on the season after last night’s loss.
