Boxer and trainer Roger Mayweather, who won world titles in two weight classes and was the uncle of Floyd Mayweather Jr, passed away yesterday at the age of 58. Floyd Mayweather said in a statement that his uncle’s health was “failing him for several years.” Roger Mayweather turned pro in 1981 and won the super featherweight and light welterweight world boxing championships. He was nicknamed the “Black Mamba.” Mayweather also served as the trainer to his nephew Floyd as Floyd was getting his career started.
