In today's Jammin' 1057 Good News Network broadcast, Paco Lopez gives us the latest number of COVID-19 recoveries, how Walmart is helping people to get jobs ...

Worldwide, almost 670,000 people have now recovered from the Corona Virus.

In the United States, nearly 75,000 people have recovered from COVID-19

Also in the past 4 weeks deaths are down and recoveries are up in the U.S.

Statistics show that in the U.S., COVID-19 had it’s highest total of cases in early April, and for the most part seem to be dropping…

Of the over 1.5 million reported cases of COVID-19 worldwide, 96% are mild.

Lockdowns in Europe are being eased.

There has been an overall 5% fall in emissions of fossil fuels. The largest drop in recorded history.

If you’re looking for temporary work until your old job calls you back. We have good news and bad news.

The bad news is that the HR department at Walmart is going to be extremely busy in the next few weeks.

Which leads to the good news…Walmart is planning to hire approximately 5,000 people a day until they have 50,000 new temporary jobs filled. This comes after their initial hiring of 150,000 employees earlier this year. Those jobs will be in stores, in their fulfillment and distribution centers.

The company says they need to hire additional personnel in order to keep up with the demand being placed on the company’s recent surge in customer purchasing.

Walmart’s chief people officer (cute title huh?) Donna Morris said, “We are humbled and proud to be able to give an opportunity to so many workers during this critical time.”

Walmart has the largest national workforce at one and a half million employees, is America’s largest grocer and one of the few big box stores remaining open during the COVID-19 pandemic.

When was the last time you called a cab and then gave him a standing ovation when he got there?!

In Spain, there is a cab driver who’s been driving Corona patients to the hospital and NOT charging them for the ride.

He’d been footing the bill for all the rides until this week, when the hospital decided to pay back the driver who’d paid it forward.

They called him to the hospital, told him there was a patient they wanted transported and then gathered around the entrance door. When he arrived, the medical staff gave him two things…a standing ovation for his selflessness and an envelope with money that they’d gathered amongst themselves to pay him for his trips and kindness.

The driver was overwhelmed with emotion, and broke down in uncontrollable tears which he couldn’t stop from flowing.

The Spanish Taxi Union shared the footage for the world to see.

That’s what happens when you do for others…and don’t expect anything in return.

We call it karma. Put good out into the world…and the world sends good back to you!
