All High School Sports Moved To Spring
The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association announced that all high school sports will be moved to the spring semester. The Clark County School District’s recent decision to have only distance learning for the upcoming fall semester made the move necessary. The NIAA also said that no state championships will be held this school year for any sports, although some sports may have playoffs The revised schedule calls for winter sports such as boys and girls basketball, wrestling, and flag football to begin play in mid January and conclude on February 20. Fall sports such as football, tennis, soccer, and cross country will start play on March 5 and play until April 10. Finally, spring sports will begin play on April 16 and end play on May 22. The decisions to have only distance learning this fall and to move high school sports to the spring have been made necessary by concerns over the coronavirus pandemic that is still sweeping the country.
