Golden Knights Smite Canucks In Game One Of Western Conference Semis
The Vegas Golden Knights got off to a roaring start in game one of the Western Conference semifinals, blanking Vancouver 5-0 in Edmonton. The Knights left Vancouver goalie Jacob Narkstrom shellshocked as they swarmed the goal and fired shot after shot, outshooting the Canucks 39-26. Vegas got goals from Mark Stone, Jonathan Marchessault, Alex Tuch, Max Pacioretty, and Reilly Smith. Knights goalie Robin Lehner made 26 saves and played through the controversial Twitter post of Marc-Andre Fleury’s agent posting a picture of Fleury with a sword sticking through his back with “DeBoer” inscribed on the blade. Knights coach Peter DeBoer has gone with Lehner in goal over Fleury in eight of 10 playoff games so far this season. Fleury’s agent later took down the post. Game two of the series is Tuesday night at 6:45pm and will be televised on NBCSN.
