NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JANUARY 13: Mariah Carey attends the premiere of Tyler Perry's "A Fall From Grace" at Metrograph on January 13, 2020 in New York City.

During a recent interview with Vulture, Mariah Carey talked about a moment where Ellen Degeneres made the star ” extremely uncomfortable.”

Carey once visited the Ellen Degeneres show, and in an attempt to confirm pregnancy rumors, DeGeneres offered the singer champagne that Carey pretended to drink.

“I was extremely uncomfortable with that moment, is all I can say,” Carey told Vulture. “And I really have had a hard time grappling with the aftermath.”

“I don’t want to throw anyone that’s already being thrown under any proverbial bus, but I didn’t enjoy that moment,” Carey continued, adding that there’s “an empathy that can be applied to those moments that I would have liked to have been implemented. But what am I supposed to do?”

Back in April, DeGeneres came under fire when her staff members complained about a lack of communication regarding the COVID-19 pandemic’s effect on their jobs, and endured sixty percent pay cuts, as we previously reported.

In June, DeGeneres employees said that the talk show host cultivated toxic work conditions. As a result, three producers exited the show and DeGeneres has apologized various times to her employees.
