Gov. Steve Sisolak’s state Covid-19 Task Force has approved the reopening of bars and taverns statewide starting on Monday. Bars can reopen at 11:59pm Sunday night. Statewide numbers on Covid-19 have been trending downward, allowing the task force to approve the reopenings. Social distancing protocols that apply to restaurants will be in effect. Nevada has shown a steady decline in cases, deaths and hospitalizations since early August. Gov. Sisolak is a statement praised Nevadans for their “hard work” in combatting the spread of the virus. County Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick downplayed the idea that bars were allowed to reopen in time for the Las Vegas Raiders Monday night game against New Orleans at Allegiant Stadium, saying she was more concerned about the economy.
