The Las Vegas Community Healing Garden continues to flourish!

To complete it, a storytelling garden will be built to honor the 58 lives lost on 1 October, according to KTNV.

“It is an incredibly important task that I take very seriously, and our organization takes very seriously that each one of these 58 trees represents a human being that was lost last night,” said Mauricia Baca, in a KTNV interview.

Baca is the executive director of Get Outdoors Nevada, which is a non-profit partner that oversees maintenance on the Healing Garden.

“And so many people continue to deal with repercussions of that night,” Baca continues. “We’ve had additional people who passed away who we look forward to creating a way to remember them.”

A solar house that was donated by UNLV students will house the storytelling and healing garden.

The healing garden was built in 2017 as a way to commemorate the lives lost on 1 October. It’s located at 1015 S Casino Center Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89101.
