After opening their season with a pronounced thud last week against San Diego State, the UNLV football team will get a chance for redemption on Saturday when they face in-state rival UNR at Allegiant Stadium. Game time is 7:30pm. It will be the Rebels first game in their new home and is the annual battle for the Fremont Cannon, which is currently in the possession of UNLV. 2000 fans will be allowed to be in attendance at the game, a combination of students and selected season ticket holders. UNLV was beaten 34-6 by San Diego State last week in their opener and first game under new head coach Marcus Arroyo, who cautioned against his team putting too much importance on the game against UNR. The UNLV quarterback situation is still up in the air. Max Gilliam started for the Rebels against SDSU but the Rebels other two quarterbacks, Kenyon Oblad and Justin Rogers saw action as well. With a win, the Rebels would hold on to the Fremont Cannon for a third season on a row, which would be a record for them. UNR comes into the game having beaten Wyoming 37-34 in OT in their opener.
