Not even playing his alma mater could get Head Coach Marcus Arroyo’s UNLV football team fired up enough to get a win. San Jose State remained unbeaten as they took apart the Rebels last Saturday 34-17. Coach Arroyo said after the game that despite the team’s fourth loss in a row he’s encouraged and that the team is making progress. Both Max Gilliam and Justin Rogers saw time at quarterback for UNLV on Saturday, with Gilliam playing the first and fourth quarters and Rogers playing the second and third. Rogers tossed his first career TD pass in the second quarter. UNLV was scheduled to play at Colorado State on Saturday but the game has been cancelled as at least four UNLV players have tested positive this week for Covid-19. Neither team has any other open dates on their schedules so the game may not be rescheduled and may be deemed a “no contest” by the Mountain West conference.
