No Playoffs For Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders got coal in their stockings for Christmas. Instead of keeping their slim playoff hopes alive, the Raiders lost to Miami 26-25 on Saturday and were eliminated from the playoff hunt. The loss was another last second heartbreaker for the Raiders, who led 25-23 with 19 seconds left…yes 19 seconds. How do you lose with only 19 seconds left you ask? Well, after a field goal gave the Raiders the lead, Miami got the ball on their own 25 yard line. On the first play, Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick completed a 34 yard pass to Mack Hollins which put the ball at the Raiders 41 yard line. On the play, Raiders defensive end Arden Key committed an impossible to miss facemask penalty on Fitzpatrick that tacked 15 yards on the end of the pass play, putting the ball on the Raiders 26 and setting the stage for the Dolphins’ game winning field goal. The loss was the Raiders fifth in their last six games and dropped their record to 7-8. The Raiders close out the season next Sunday at Denver. Game time is 1:25pm.
