Sheldon Adelson, the billionaire CEO of Las Vegas Sands, passed away late Monday night from complications due to his cancer treatment. Adelson’s company owned the Venetian and Palazzo resorts here in Vegas as well as the Sands Convention Center and mega-casinos in Macau and Singapore. His family also owns the Las Vegas Review/Journal newspaper. He was 87 years old. Adelson was a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump and a huge donor to other Republican campaigns.
