LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - JANUARY 27: Fans stand behind cardboard cutouts in the stands as the American national anthem is played before a game between the Utah State Aggies and the UNLV Rebels at the Thomas & Mack Center on January 27, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada. UNLV basketball games at the arena had been played without fans in attendance all season because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic until this game when 50 fans, mostly family members of players, were let in. The UNLV Runnin’ Rebels five game winning streak was snapped on Wednesday night at the Thomas & Mack Center as they fell to Utah State 83-74. The Aggies led 37-34 at halftime and opened the second half with a 9-0 run to take control of the game. David Jenkins scored 33 points for UNLV. Moses Wood was the only other player in double figures for the Rebels with 11. UNLV shot poorly from the field and was outrebounded 39-28. UNLV did allow about 50 family members of players to attend the game. The Rebels (6-7, 3-3 Mountain West) will now travel to in state rival UNR for a two game set starting on Sunday at 6:30pm.
