Serena Williams’ fourth try for a record tying 24th Grand Slam title was ended in the semifinals of the Australian Open as she was beaten by Naomi Osaka 6-3, 6-4. Osaka is the third ranked player in the world and the win over Serena was her 20th match victory in a row. Osaka will go for her fourth major title when she plays Jennifer Brady in the final. Serena left the postgame press conference in tears after answering questions about her future and saying “if I ever say farewell, I wouldn’t tell anyone.”

Born in New York City but also consider myself a native of Detroit. Attended college at Michigan State University. Started radio career in Detroit in 1980. Moved to Vegas in 1989. Worked 14 years at KCEP 88.1 before getting hired at Beasley with 105.7 in 2014.
