The Rio Hotel and Casino, which has been closed since the beginning of the pandemic last year, has partnered with Hyatt for a renovation and rebranding project. Dreamscape Companies, which owns the Rio, says that the name of the property will not change. The larger of the hotel’s two towers will be transformed into a Hyatt Regency Hotel and the other will be rebranded with one of Hyatt’s other brands. Public spaces within the property will be redeveloped including gaming areas, retail, food and beverage, and pool areas. The property is expected to reopen in 2023.
