TLC “No Scrubs” Brings Life To Sandee Bonita’s Good Words
Honesty and transparency are qualities that are full of virtue in my eyes. As you know by now, music serves as a big inspiration when it comes to how I like to live my life.
One of the first songs I heard today while preparing for my show was “No Scrubs” by TLC. This has been a huge women empowerment jam since its debut. Although the song talks about men as “scrubs,” every time I listen to the song, I envision “scrubs” as the people who lack transparency in their positions in life. Let me be clear and say that there’s nothing wrong with working to reach a certain level of success, that is actually very admirable. What I do find questionable is the actions of individuals who utilize someone else’s success to elevate their actions.
As a reminder to stay away from “scrubs” my Sandee Bonita Good Words were brought to life by the lyrics of the song that say: “a scrub is a guy who thinks he’s fly, and is also known as busta..” We love and admire hardworking individuals on this end, but the ones who front, those can’t get no love over here, LOL!
