Criss Angel To Buy Restaurant In Moapa Vallley
Magician Criss Angel, known as the “Mindfreak” is purchasing Sugar’s Home Plate restaurant in Overton. The restaurant will be renamed CABLP, (an acronym for “Criss Angel’s Breakfast, Lunch and Pizza” and pronounced ca-BLIP) and will begin the transition this week. The neighboring towns of Overton and Logandale are about 60 miles north of Vegas and the area is collectively known as Moapa Valley. Angel became interested in the restaurant after stopping in to eat while taking his seven year old son Johnny, who has leukemia, dirt bike riding in the area. Angel had some conversations with Judy Metz who owned the restaurant and told him she was interested in selling. Angel says the revised menu will feature all-American comfort food and he has already hired his chefs. The restaurant is expected to be closed for four to six weeks for renovations. Angel also expects to open some other businesses in the area to help provide jobs for older teens and young adults.
