Happy Father’s Day!
I want to thank the father figures in my life for raising me to be the man I am today.
The man in the Navy uniform is my biological father, Jerry L. Rice, who passed away the day before my first birthday.
At the age of five, my step father, Bill Napier, stepped up raising as one of his own. He made an amazing impact on my life. He never let me forget my biological father yet he never called me his stepson. I remember him sitting at the table helping me with homework, the one-on one-walks and talks were priceless, and the way he treated my mom taught me how to be a great husband to my wife.
The last thing he said to me before he passed away was, “your character is the things you do when folks aren’t looking; make yourself proud of what you do.” I salute and honor both of my father figures. Hey Dad…I’m Proud!
Thanks to my uncles, Joseph Paul and Harold who taught be the man I am.
