Aces Go Into Break On Winning Note
The Las Vegas Aces got ready for a long break by beating Dallas 95-79 on Sunday. A’Ja Wilson and Dearica Hamby each scored 22 points with Hamby grabbing 13 rebounds and Wilson pulling down 12. Jackie Young added 17 points and five assists for the Aces. The next game for Las Vegas isn’t until August 15 due to the WNBA All Star break and the Summer Olympics. The WNBA All Star game is July 14 here in Las Vegas at the Aces’ home court, Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay and four Aces players will participate. Liz Cambage and Dearica Hamby will be on the WNBA All Star team which will play the USA Women’s National team which includes A’ja Wilson and Chelsea Gray. Cambage will play in the Olympics on the Australian National team and Aces backup center JiSu Park will play for South Korea. Aces guard Kelsey Plum is also an Olympian and will be on the USA 3-on-3 team. The Aces enter the break with a record of 15-6, one game behind Seattle in the Western Conference. We won’t see the Aces play again until they open a two game set against the Washington Mystics on August 15 and 17 with both games at Michelob Ultra Arena.
