‘Parks And Recreation’ Star Retta Hosting New Show On HGTV
Marietta Sangai Sirleaf — professionally known as Retta — was part of the cast of the classic show Parks And Recreation, and now she will be hosting a new show on HGTV called Ugliest House in America.
“I loooove a renovation ‘before and after,’ so to have a front-row seat from beginning to end in Ugliest House in America is pretty damn exciting, especially since I fancy myself an amateur designer,” Retta said in a press release per PEOPLE. “My go-to design recommendations are to add a chandelier and more cabinets for storage, so amateur!”
The new series is set to air in early 2022 and will follow the star as she travels across the country touring homes nominated by their owners. Searching from coast to coast, the Good Girls star and her team will be choosing the “ugliest house” and will then surprise the homeowner with a $150,000 makeover.
Retta’s hilarious demeanor made her a shoo-in for this role according to Betsy Ayala, the senior vice president of production and development at HGTV in a press release per PEOPLE, “This series will be eye-candy with a twist as we showcase ‘home’ in an entirely new way, and with Retta at the helm, is sure to be a hilarious and fun-filled journey of the country’s oddest, wildest and most ridiculous homes.”
HGTV is home to many renovation shows including Flip or Flop, Brother vs. Brother, and Flipping 101.
