Raiders Put Aside Distractions, Thump Denver
The Las Vegas Raiders put aside the distractions of the week that culminated in the resignation of head coach Jon Gruden and delivered a resounding 34-24 win over the Broncos in Denver.
Playing under interim head coach Rich Bisaccia, Vegas played an outstanding game on both sides of the ball as running back Josh Jacobs returned to form, quarterback Derek Carr spread the ball around effectively, and the Raiders defense came up with three interceptions and sacked Denver quarterback Teddy Bridgewater five times.
Carr was 18-of-27 passing for 341 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Wide receiver Henry Ruggs III caught a 48 yard TD strike and running back Kenyon Drake hauled in a 31 yard TD strike in addition to running for an 11 yard score.
Vegas led 17-7 at halftime and 31-10 after three quarters. The Raiders return home to face Philadelphia next Sunday at 1pm at Allegiant Stadium.
