In a late night vote early Friday morning, the Clark County School District voted to rescind their previous vote to terminate the contract of superintendent Jesus Jara.

The 4-3 vote to keep Jara as superintendent came after a meeting that started at 5pm and didn’t end until 1:30 am this morning.

The board initially voted on Oct. 28 to terminate Jara’s contract. Jara then demanded a settlement of almost three million dollars.

Jara has to decide if he wants to return to the job so the board also moved forward with a motion to consider a replacement for Jara.
