The iconic Mirage Hotel & Casino is being sold to the Hard Rock. MGM Resorts International which owns the Mirage announced the deal on Monday along with Hard Rock International. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2022. The sale price is a little over $1 billion.
The Mirage is one of Las Vegas most iconic and well known properties and is credited with starting the last big resort building spree in 1989. The hotel will be rebranded with the Hard Rock name and plans call for a new guitar shaped hotel to be built on the 77 acre property.
The rebranding process will take a couple of years and MGM has licensed the use of the Mirage name to the Hard Rock for up to three years.
