The NFL Pro Bowl took over Vegas this past weekend! Players from all teams gathered in Vegas for the AFC vs. NFC game! Leading up to the game on Sunday, players were seen all over Vegas!
Both divisions did have to practice, and they held open practices at the Las Vegas Ballpark! Fans of all teams showed up in support of their favorite teams and players! Some lucky fans even got the chance to meet their favorite players and get pictures and autographs! In true NFL form, there was music, DJs, & even a flyover by the Thunderbirds!
The game was held at Allegiant Stadium where both teams took the field to show which division was the best. Now we all know the Pro Bowl is a game of fun. There was very limited contact and the game was more of two-hand touch. But what a lot of people don’t know is the NFL uses these games to test out possible new rules they are considering implementing during the regular season. Like when a team scores a TD and then follows it up with an extra point, that team then has the option to kick it off to the other team or to take possession of the ball again, but with a 4th down at their own 10-yard line. We learned quickly during the game that this wasn’t an option the chosen division coaches were fond of.
Our sister station, 96.3 KKLZ’s The Mike & Carla Morning Show recapped the game, highlighting Las Vegas Raider Max Crosby, who took home “Defensive Player of the Game” and more in this segment from this morning.
It looked like a successful week leading up to Sunday’s game. Will the NFL bring the Pro Bowl back to Las Vegas? We can only wait and see. One thing Vegas can look forward to next though is the NFL Draft!
Here are some photos from the practices they held this past Friday, up at the Las Vegas Ballpark in Summerlin.
