Davante Adams and the Packers won’t have to work out a new contract after all. The Raiders are sending their first two picks in the 2022 NFL Draft to the Packers in exchange for Davante Adams, The first-round pick is No. 22 overall. The 29 year old receiver, has long been the Packers’ top receiver and a favorite target of Aaron Rodgers. Adams certainly will be happy with the contract extension he received as part of the trade. He will become the NFL’s highest-paid receiver at $28.25 million per season. Adams has made five consecutive Pro Bowls and has been named back-to-back AP All-Pro first teams. He has averaged 1,483 yards and 14 touchdowns per 17 games played during that span.
Adams was instrumental in helping Rodgers earn NFL MVP honors in each of the last two seasons. Now, Adams will look to elevate the play of his college teammate Derek Carr with the Raiders. Welcome Home Davante.
