Our Vegas Golden Knights suffered their first loss of the season on Tuesday night, losing 3-2 to the Flames in Calgary.
The Knights had opened the regular season 3-0.
Vegas jumped out to an early 2-0 lead against Calgary on first period goals by William Carrier and Brett Howden. Logan Thompson was playing great in goal for Vegas but then things started to unravel. The Knights started committing penalties and the Flames capitalized, scoring two consecutive power play goals in the second period to tie the game.
Vegas committed six penalties in all and it hurt their cohesiveness on the ice as players were in and out of the penalty box.
Calgary scored late in the third period and remained unbeaten on the young season.
Vegas returns home to open up a three game homestand starting with a game on Thursday night at T-Mobile Arena against Winnipeg. Game time is 7pm. The homestand will continue with a game on Saturday night against the defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche and then a game next Monday vs. Toronto.
We fearlessly predict the Knights will win all three games! Go Knights!
