ACCRA, GHANA - SEPTEMBER 24: Sza performs on stage during Global Citizen Festival 2022: Accra on September 24, 2022 in Accra, Ghana.

SZA announced that her sophomore album is titled S.O.S. and will drop sometime in December. She gave some more details told Billboard in a recent interview. The Top Dawg Entertainment artist also detailed about where her new music is headed.

“I feel like music, in this capacity, I don’t see longevity,” she said. “I like to create, I like to write, I like to sing, and I like to share. But I don’t know if chasing after superstardom or whatever I’m supposed to be doing right now is sustainable for me or for anybody. I’mma take a good swing at it, and I’mma give ’em my absolute best.”

The New Jersey native also spoke about the stress of the industry: “I hate the red tape analytics of dropping anything—it’s so stressful,” she said. “I definitely have heard [the term ‘digital service provider’] more this week and last week than I have ever. I don’t like the way it sounds—it sounds stressful and like something that requires a lot of attention and maneuvering. I hate the word ‘single.’ It’s like, ‘What the f— separates a single from other s— on my album that I like? Why does it have to be different?'”

While S.O.S. doesn’t have an official release date, SZA has been prepping her fans for the release by dropping her new single “Shirt.” The singer also teased a sexy visual of another song yet to be released titled “PSA.”

S.O.S. is the follow-up to her debut album CTRL which was released in 2017. CTRL debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and has never left since. The album has been on the chart for 283 consecutive weeks.
