Cardi B Might Face Legal Action Over Marge Simpson Costume: Report
Cardi B is potentially facing legal action over her Thierry Mugler-clad Marge Simpson costume for Halloween. The artist, aleXsandro Palombo claims that the rapper is appropriating his work without consent. The Bronx-bred rapper posted photos of herself in the Mugler green bodysuit with Marge’s signature necklace and towering blue hair. The look is similar to Palombo’s Marge Simpsons Style Icon series he created in 2013.
Palombo hired intellectual property attorney Claudio Volpi to bring the case up against Cardi per Artnet. “Cardi B has illegitimately appropriated the work of aleXsandro Palombo for mere business purposes in defiance of the most elementary rules on copyright and Instagram policies, with the consequent serious risks, both of compensation and of discredit for her public image,” it read.
Currently, a lawsuit has yet to be filed but Volpi issued a formal notice to Cardi’s label Atlantic Records, photographer Jora Frantzis, and Cardi’s stylist Kollin Carter. Volpi and Palombo are requesting that the Instagram post to be corrected and threatened that they’ll request compensation for Palombo in addition to the lawsuit, should they not comply.
Cardi recently made headlines for defending her husband against comedian Nicole Arbour. “Man… few weeks after his cousin was murdered over a dice game…,” Arobour tweeted Sunday night (Nov. 27). “Offset’s making new music about shooting people and shooting places up. Not a single thing was learned.”
Cardi quote-tweeted the post and replied: “The fact you trying to use the death of some1 I love to get clout is crazy …..I’m not going to do none of that ….I’m just going to pray for you.”

Later in the convo, the comedian accused the rapper of creating a video with photoshopped images of Facebook posts.
“Yoooooo now @iamcardib is photoshopping s— with my name on it to pretend I’m racist because she wants to defend promoting the killing of black men as ok???,” she Yoooooo now @iamcardib is photoshopping shit with my name on it to pretend I’m racist because she wants to defend promoting the killing of black men as ok??? The fuk is wrong with you!?!?

“I don’t even have a Facebook and @iamcardib is posting “racist” posts from my Facebook page to millions,” Arbour I don’t even have a Facebook and @iamcardib is posting “racist” posts from my Facebook page to millions.

“Yeah @iamcardib I don’t want your photoshopping a– on my show,” she Yeah @iamcardib I don’t want your photoshopping ass on my show.
Truth is you know it’s disgusting that you’re promoting violence right after a murder and instead of saying “yeah that is messed up, I shouldn’t do that” you go full psycho on me for speaking up.
Cardi has yet to make any additional comments about Arbour or defend the claim that the Facebook posts were made via Photoshop.
