Jennifer Coolidge Makes Hilarious TikTok Debut With Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Coolidge made her TikTok debut on Thursday (January 19) with a little help from her Shotgun Wedding co-star, Jennifer Lopez.
“Hi, this is my first TikTok and I was trying to think of something cool to do and I think I’m just going to do a poem that I like,” said Coolidge, 61. In the clip, the Golden Globe-winning actress was decked out in a glittery black dress and gold hoops for the occasion.
The dramatic reading of Coolidge’s poetry slam began, “Don’t be fooled… by the rocks that I got, I’m still Jenny… Jenny… Jenny from the block.” The White Lotus star then shifts the front-facing camera to Lopez, who was sitting right next to her and squints her eyes. In a soft whisper and slight head nod, J-Lo says, “I like that” to her friend and co-star. Coolidge plays her future mother-in-law in the upcoming rom-com along with Josh Duhamel and Cheech Marin. “I really, really like that.” Satisfied with her praise, Coolidge raises her eyebrows and puckers her lips. Former *NSYNC member Lance Bass had the best comments on the TikTok writing, “Nailed it.” In a follow-up comment addressing her White Lotus character’s death, Bass wrote, “The gays here will not murder you” with a heart emoji.

The night before, Lopez appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote the movie and gushed about how “on fire” Coolidge is right now. When the late-night host noted that Coolidge is always “odd,” “nutty” and funny, Lopez said the other Jen isn’t always what you’d think she’d be. “You expect her because she’s so hilarious and everything, that she’s gonna come over and she’s just gonna be funny right away,” Lopez said. “But, it’s kind of like how her characters are where she’s like there and you’re like, ‘Is she trying to be funny or is she not being funny?’ And you don’t know if to laugh or not to laugh and then when you see it later it’s hilarious! And you’re like, ‘I should have laughed!’”

Coolidge and Lopez first made their joint social-media debut at the Shotgun Wedding premiere, where Lopez posted a video to Instagram from the afterparty on Wednesday night. In the below video, the two were too busy chatting and dancing before they realized they were being filmed for a Livestream on the app. Lopez’s husband Ben Affleck was sitting on the couch nearby and as she told him to stand up, the actor seemed to really struggle to stand.
