Aces Open Training Camp In Brand New Facility
The defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces opened training camp for the upcoming season this past Sunday in style as they moved into their new state of the art practice facility in Henderson. The new facility is located near the Las Vegas Raiders training and practice facility.
The Aces new 64,000 square foot practice and training facility is the first of it’s kind to be built solely for a WNBA team. It features two basketball courts, a locker room with individual vanities for each player, a TV and Mac mini console at each players’ locker and an 85 inch screen TV in the locker room, a weight room and training area with hot and cold plunge pools, an infrared sauna, cryotherapy and a nutrition bar. Aces players will also enjoy a lounge with massage chairs and there’ll be an alumni lounge. The basketball courts have retractable seating for 400 people. The facility has been named “Aces Headquarters.”
As the Aces prepare to defend their WNBA title the team has welcomed some new players during the offseason including perennial WBNA all star and two time champion Candace Parker who signed with the team in free agency and two time WNBA champion Alysha Clark.
Aces head coach Becky Hammon will be enshrined in the Naismith Memorial NBA Hall of Fame in August and her name has been mentioned in connection with the NBA’s Toronto Raptors head coaching opening.
The Aces will play their preseason opener vs. the New York Liberty on Saturday, May 13 at 2pm at Michelob Ultra Arena. Vegas opens the regular season on Saturday, May 20 at noon at Seattle, followed by a game on Thursday, May 25 at 7pm at the L.A. Sparks. The Aces home opener is Saturday, May 27 at 6pm vs. L.A. at Michelob Ultra Arena. Tickets for all Aces games go on sale today, (Tuesday, May 2).
We are strongly predicting that the Aces will repeat as WNBA champs! Let’s go Aces! Good luck on the upcoming season!
