Las Vegas Raiders Don’t Need To Make More Moves Right Now
Some football fans, mainly Raider haters, may be saying that the Raiders are the biggest loser in free agency thus far. But to me, the silver and black are right where they should be.
They aren’t making a lot of moves right now because they don’t have to! They actually have a good roster. All they need is a quarterback, and I don’t know if Aden O’Connel or newly signed Gardner Minshew from the Indianapolis Colts is the answer.
Raiders Cuts And Loses
Releasing QB Jimmy Garropolo, Hunter Winfrow, and Josh Jacobs wasn’t a huge surprise. In my unprofessional opinion, Jimmy G shouldn’t have ever been signed.
Hunter Winfrow is a great receiver no doubt, but hasn’t been a big threat since his injury. Josh Jacobs is truly an elite RB and some may argue that we should have kept him in the silver and black uniform.
According to CBSsports.com,” Jacobs was coming off his first NFL rushing title, leading the league in rushing yards (1,653), yards from scrimmage”, but failed to be a huge threat last season.
Former head coach Josh McDaniels almost single-handedly destroyed this team.Ā Getting rid of McDaniels was the best decision for the Raiders.
He made Josh Jacobs horrible, he made Devonte Adam’s horrible, and he made the Raider’s defense beyond Horrible. McDaniels couldn’t even get a 20-point game. That’s simply trash!
The Rebuilding Of The Silver And Black
After firing Josh McDaniels late in the season and hiring Antonio Pierce as interim head coach, we saw a difference immediately. Adding CB Jack Jones was proven to be a great move.
With the signing of former Miami Dolphin DB Christian Wilkins to a four-year, $110 million deal (man, I’m in the wrong business), according to pff.com, Pierce is looking to give super defensive star Max Crosby more help. Now that Pierce has been hired as head coach, we can see players are excited to play again.
So do the Raiders need to make a lot of moves this off-season? My intelligent, but non-professional answer is no!
Work with the great team we already have, add a little spice to the QB position, and watch Las Vegas continue to show folks why we are now looked at as “Win City”.
