NBA Summer League 2024 Will Be Uncommonly Interesting
Las Vegas has hosted the NBA Summer League since 2004, and some great players have come out of the draft and participate. Now that Summer is here and the NBA draft is approaching again, it’s time to dive into July for basketball fans. And that typically means The NBA Summer league.
What To Expect In This NBA Summer League
This year, in particular, is not as stellar as last year with Wemby coming out, or even next year’s loaded NBA draft class, but at least we will have one name to highlight, and that is Bronny James. According to former NBA player and sports analyst Darius Rice “The NBA draft this year is considered one of if not the worst draft class as far as talent ever”. It’s no secret why LeBron told his son to stay in this draft. Next year will be real tough to get in for him and this year with it being so weak he can go anywhere from mid first round to the final pick.
The NBA Summer League kicks off July 12 and runs till July 22 at the Thomas and Mack center right here in the entertainment capital of the world, and it will bring out all 32 teams with their new draft picks, and some Free agents looking to make the teams.
We will take a deeper dive into this after the draft with my preview to Summer league, but like I said earlier, the one name we do know that’s sure to draw attention is Bronny James. Basketball fans will surely pack the house to watch him play on whatever team drafts him.

With this years class being so weak, who knows what will happen. 93 players withdrew their names yesterday from the draft. And according to ESPN.com the New Orleans Pelicans deferred their 2024 pick from the Los Angels Lakers pick 17 until next season. Bottom line, no one wants to pick from this draft. However there are a few guys I think will be top 3.
#1: Zaccharie Risacher from France is a 6’9″ small Forward. and according to ESPN.com, “The son of former Olympian and Euro League player Stephane Risacher, Zaccharie was identified as possibly the top international prospect in his age group from an early stage”.
#2: Alex Sarr who is also from France, a big 7’1″ center who is ready to follow in Victor ‘Wemby’ Wembanyama’s footsteps.
