A brand new seafood boil restaurant opened another location in the southwest Vegas Valley.  Pier 88 Boiling Seafood & Bar offers freshly caught seafood boil with homemade Louisiana style seasoning, such as Cajun, Lemon Pepper, and Garlic Butter, according to its website. My favorite is their 88 seasoning, which is a combination of all of the seasonings.

“Our attentive service, upscale ambiance, wild hand-on style, and unique flavor create an exceptional, yet affordable dining experience that differentiates and exceeds many traditional seafood or casual dining restaurants,” the website states. My wife and I ordered the #43 mild which is a pound of snow crab, But I like to do double corn no potato. The chicken wings are phenomenal. I can taste those lemon pepper wings right now!

Another reason why we chose this restaurant is because of it’s name. Sounds crazy huh? Well our Anniversary is August 8 (8/8) And the name of the restaurant is Pier 88. get it? So we celebrated our 8th year anniversary at the grand opening of Pier 88 on North Rainbow and Lake Mead. It’s something about that number 8! It actually means a new beginning, so celebrating our 8th year with Pier 88’s new beginning and grand opening for the first time signifies a new beginning in our marriage.  Got to keep it new!

The friendly service, food and atmosphere is above expectations. The casual restaurant features southern Cajun style boiled seafood served in a cooking bag to preserve the flavor. Other than boiled seafood, their menu items also include fried seafood and bar snacks which are prepared from scratch. And the deserts are pleasing to the pallet. We have already made plans to return next week. I have to try the fried catfish next.
