Philadelphia Soul Singer, Russell Thompkins, Jr., is known for his falsetto voice and being the lead singer of the group The New Stylistics. The group was created in 1968 from two former groups, The Monarcs and The Percussions. The band released a self-titled album in 1971 which created the well-known hits “You’re a Big Girl Now’ and “You Are Everything.” The band has produced many other projects since while also finding success outside of the U.S. In the mid ’70s the band became widely loved across the seas in the United Kingdom. Thompkins decide to part ways with the band in 2000s to pursue a solo career. He released a solo album called ‘A Matter of Style.’ He ended up creating a new group called Russell Thompkins, Jr. and The New Stylistics and you have the chance to see them LIVE.
