Salem The Halloween Capital Of The World Thrills With Annual Parade. Salem, Massachusetts is a tourist trap this time of year. If you’re a local, you either LOVE the tourists who travel from all over the world to take in all the haunted happenings of this historic city OR you absolutely HATE the crowds, the traffic and the trash. Either way, every year Salem, Massachusetts is the place to be to celebrate everything Halloween.

The Haunted Happenings Grand Parade is an annual parade that officially kicks off the Halloween season in Salem and is run by the Salem Chamber of Commerce. Last night’s parade was its 27th annual. The theme for this year’s Parade was “Our Time on Earth”, inspired by the 2024 exhibition that was previously on view at the Peabody Essex Museum. It started at 6:30pm and didn’t end until after 8 so you had over an hour and a half of costumes, floats, candy and scary fun.

I (Melissa) attended the parade for the second year in a row and had THE BEST TIME. No matter where you live in the world, you need to make visiting Salem something to put on your bucket list. Especially if you’re a Halloween fan. Enjoy the pictures.
