For all of the women who’ve struggled in the workforce: We hear you.

This was the message for this year’s Women Empowerment Conference at University of Nevada Las Vegas’ campus.

The conference focused on confronting the mentally and physically-oppressive stigmas against women worldwide. DJ Thump from “Thump In The Morning” broadcasted LIVE at the conference, and interviewed Zandra Pollard, who spearheaded this event.

The event explored how to address mental health awareness throughout multiple industries with a diverse array of speakers. A few of the speakers included Ogechi Musa and Shatonna Nelson.

Musa is a writer, director and producer, whose work promotes marginalized stories to educate and inspire. Nelson is a survivor of sexual trauma and works on the federal level to put an end to human trafficking and slavery.

These two amazing women were accompanied by other great speakers, who all brought thought-provoking conversations to the community. Attendees also had the opportunity to partake in conversations about mental health and how to promote change.

This event helped to connect and build a network of support for all of those who attended. Thank you to the attendees and organizers for connecting and empowering our Vegas community!
