With the ever growing success of her holiday classic, “All I Want For Christmas,” Mariah Carey attempted to trademark the term “Queen of Christmas” this last year. However, holiday singer Elizabeth Chan filed a formal declaration of opposition to Carey’s trademark claim and successfully stopped Mariah from monetizing the phrase.
Who is Elizabeth Chan you ask? Well, the New Yorker profiled her in 2018 with a headline calling her “The Queen of Christmas.” The article described Chan as “America’s most successful, and perhaps only, full-time Christmas-song singer-slash-composer.”
