The Disneyland® Resort Gets A Boo-tiful Makeover!

The Halloween spirit has taken over the Disneyland® Resort! From The Haunted Mansion Holiday to Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark, even the rides at Disneyland® Park and Disney California Adventure Park® have got their “ghost face” on (see what I did there?)! It’s easy to fall into the spirit of the season while watching the nighttime show “Halloween Screams” or lean into the cultural embrace of Plaza de la Familia to celebrate the bonds of family and Dia de Los Muertos.

Nothing says “fiendish-fun” like fiendishly good food! Ranging from savory to sweet, you can tell the creative culinary team has gone all out with options for everyone to enjoy festive offerings. Courtesy of the Disneyland® Resort, I had the opportunity to celebrate Halloween Time and dive into some of theses devilishly delicious foods!

Trick… or Treat Yourself to Something Tasty

During Halloween Time, you can sink your fangs – I mean teeth – into an array of delectable treats! The classic churro can be found all over both parks in several sugar-coated costumes. At Disneyland® Park, you can find a sweet and slightly tangy Green Apple Churro with Caramel Sauce near Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters or you can find the Maleficient Churro, rolled in chocolate cookie crubles, near Sleeping Beauty Castle. Over at Disney California Adventure Park®, you can find the Peanut Butter-Chocolate Churro at Cozy Cone Motel 1 or my personal favorite, the Poison Apple Churro – a green cinnamon sugar churro with bright red, dripping icing, at Senor Buzz Churros.

Besides the plenty of churros to choose from, there’s no shortage of treats, delights, and frightfully flavorful bites visting patrons can try from now until October 31, 2024! Below you can check out all the fantastic eats I tried during my trip.

  • Candy Corn Float from Clarabelle's Hand-Scooped Ice Cream

    Candy Corn Float
I know candy corn gets a bad rep, but hear me out, this float was phenominal… and it also didn’t taste like candy corn! The combination of bubbly Fanta Orange mixed with mango sorbet made for more of a tropical tasting treat! I have to admit, this was so good I even ate the candy corn on top.

  • Cozy Corn from Cozy Cone Motel 5 - Popcorn Scoop

    Cozy Corn

A subtle nod to their Plaza de la Familia celebration, the Cozy Corn should be offered year-round! I was going to share this with my mom but, after the first bite, I told her to get her own. The combination of buttered corn, spicy lime mayo, and cotija cheese was a fiesta for my taste buds. If you’re feeling extra spicy, you can even get it with crushed chile-cheese puffs!

  • Philly Potato Dog from Refreshment Corner

    Philly Potato Dog

This potato was so nice, I had to get it twice! I actually didn’t expect it to be as good as it was, but I should have known Disneyland has perfected the art of the baked potato! Packed with an all-beef hot dog, thinly sliced beef, peppers, and topped with provolone cheese – this bad boy is a must have. I do recommend sharing it, as it can be pretty heavy for one person at the park!

  • Monstropolis Float from The Tropical Hideaway

    Monstropolis Float

The renowned DOLE Whip gets a ghoulish makeover! The Ube-dusted pinapple and mango flavored treat is enhanced with passion fruit coconut juice and decorated with pinapple leaves. The lychee fruit doesn’t just serve as decorative eyes, it gives a nice burst of succulent flavor to this appropriately named float. This is perfect for a hot fall day, which is perfectly plausible in sunny California!

  • Coco Inspired Vanilla Layer Cake from Paradise Garden Grill

    Coco Inspired Vanilla Layer Cake
In the heart of the Plaza de la Familia celebration, you can find this vanilla flavored layer cake with cinnamon mouse and sweet cream frosting. Even though you can find this treat all year long, the sugar skull inspired white chocolate medallion topping it is just for this season. If you plan your meal time just right, you can also catch the Mariachi Divas performing while you dine on this delicous cake!

  • Graveyard Banana Funnel Cake from Stage Door Cafe

    Graveyard Banana Funnel Cake
When I found out there was a banana flavored funnel cake, I knew I had to have it! Banana flavored foods are often hit or miss, and either you love them or you hate them. I loved this funnel cake! It was the perfect mix of banana cream, chocolate cookie dust, whipped topping and sprinkles. This is a treat the entire family will enjoy.
