As most of us take advantage of National Pi Day by treating ourselves to a slice of delicious baked pie, let’s see what the cast of of those outlandish coming-of-age ‘American Pie‘ movies have been up to.

American Pie was a coming-of-age sex comedy that follows a group of high school friends who make a pact to lose their virginity before graduation.

The movie spawned one of the most recognizable and recited movie catch-phrases of all-time which was spoken by Alyson Hannigan‘s character ‘Heather‘ (see below):

American Pie was the 4th biggest comedy of 1999 behind “Analyze This“, “Big Daddy“, and “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me” and became the 17th highest grossing film of that year.

The movie was such a success that the studio made three sequels: American Pie 2 in 2001, American Wedding in 2003 and American Reunion in 2012. Despite no other theatrical releases, the ‘American Pie‘ franchise sparked five direct-to-DVD spin-offs: American Pie Presents: Band Camp in 2005, The Naked Mile in 2006, Beta House in 2007, The Book of Love in 2009, and Girls’ Rules in 2020.

Nearly the entire group of actors involved with the movie have gone on to become huge successes in their own right. Here’s a quick update of what some of them are up to now.

Jason Biggs who played ‘Jim‘ married actress Jenny Mollen in 2008 and has two small children. Biggs is currently the host of the TV series “Jason Bigg’s Cash At My Door” where he shows up at people’s homes and makes families go through random tests to win money.

Alyson Hannigan who played ‘Heather‘ married her “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” co-star Alexis Denisof in 2003 and also have two children. Alyson and her family are living their best lives right now having made headlines this last year from the record sale of their Encino mansion for $16 Million.

Tara Reid who played ‘Vicky‘ recently appeared on the TV series Ghosts as herself.

After a successful 6-season run with the series “Schitt’s Creek“, actor Eugen Levy who played ‘Jim’s Dad‘ can now be seen in “The Reluctant Traveler” on AppleTV (see below).

And who could forget American Pie‘s scene-stealer Jennifer Coolidge who played ‘Stiffer’s Mom‘. Coolidge was recently honored at the 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild, taking home the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series for the HBO Max series ‘The White Lotus‘.

To “Pie” fans everywhere I bid you a Happy Pi Day…. enjoy!
