Former Las Vegas Raiders WR Henry Ruggs III admitted to a Judge  that he drove 156 mph while intoxicated causing a fatal crash killing 23 year old Tina Tintor and her pet dog Max. The plea deal could send the 24-year old first round NFL draft pick to state prison for only three to 10 years.

Social media is furious that Henry Ruggs III will be getting a slap on the wrist for what many would call murder. sentencing is scheduled for Wed. May 10 in state court in Las Vegas.

Other charges to be dismissed are felony reckless driving, driving under the influence which  caused substantial injury to his girlfriend, Je’nai Kilgo-Washington, and a misdemeanor gun charge. Police said they found a loaded handgun in Ruggs’ car after the crash.

Witnesses sadly watched as Tina’s vehicle burned while she and her dog were trapped inside.

Ruggs was released by the Raiders shortly after the Nov. 2, 2021, crash. He was facing more than 50 years in prison if convicted of all the charges at trial according to District Attorney Steve Wolfson.

Henry Ruggs III is facing a judge with a plea and he is now facing only 3-10 years. According to “Ruggs’ attorneys, David Z. Chesnoff and Richard A. Schonfeld said last week when the 24-year-old first agreed to the plea deal that it all was “a fair resolution to this matter.”

While Henry Ruggs remains on house arrest. His minimum three year sentence cannot be reduced by converting that to time served.

Wolfson said, “Ruggs might have escaped conviction at trial because he was not administered a field sobriety test following the crash. His defense attorneys argued that that Ruggs’ blood-alcohol test was improperly obtained at the hospital.” Do you think his conviction is fair?  See what is being said on social media.
