This past weekend was a tough one for Raider Nation.
Yesterday, SoFi Stadium erupted in stereotypical Raiders Vs. Chargers fashion with a melee breaking out at the venue.
However, this wasn’t the only painful punch that was thrown at Raider’s fans.
I’m a huge Raider fan. In fact, I even have our team tattooed on my leg because I’m that much of a fan. But, I made a bad decision a few months ago that left me to this point of pure humiliation.
On Jan. 9, 2022 during week 18, the Raiders beat the Chargers. During that time, I was on my high horse because my good friend and I, DJ Cool, made a bet.
The bet was as followed: The loser of the game would have to wear the opposing team’s jersey. So, DJ Cool had to don a black and silver jersey with the Raider’s logo plastered all over it. Oh man, was this a sight to see! I never imagined my ride-or-die Chargers friend to ever wear Raiders merch. Since my team won in 2022, I was truly feeling great about this bet because clearly . . . the odds were ever in my favor.
But then, something happened. We had to honor the bet again this year, but I wasn’t prepared for what the future had in store for me.
Yesterday, the Raiders unfortunately lost, and I realized the magnitude of what I promised, which was wearing the infamous baby blue and yellow colors.
So yes, I — DJ Thump — had to wear Chargers merch. And this wasn’t because I wanted to, it was because I had to. I’m a man of my word so a bet is a bet, even if it means that I had to contract the monkeypoxs due to wearing these horrid colors.
Despite my own feelings, it’s always a great time to share camaraderie and competition between other fans. Win, lost or tie, I’m a raiders fan till I die! Scroll down below to see the FULL video of what happened to me.
