Pharrel Williams To Narrate The New Mr. Grinch
Pharrell William’s Oscar-nominated single, “Happy” helped transform Illumination and Universal Pictures Despicable Me 2 into a beast hit in 2013. Pharrell has rejoined the crew to narrate The Grinch.
Grammy candidate Tyler, the Creator has composed a unique melody — “I Am The Grinch” — and will perform it for the film. Oscar-nominated writer Danny Elfman has composed the film’s score, and Tyler, the Creator and Elfman worked together on a reconsidered rendition of the exemplary Grinch theme, “You’re A Mean One.”
Benedict Cumberbatch voices the The Grinch, with Rashida Jones, SNL’s Keenan Thompson, Cameron Seely and Angela Lansbury giving the other primary voices, with Lansbury voicing The Mayor of Whoville.
The movie is adapted from Dr. Seuss’ book and comes 18 years after Universal discharged the real life Grinch with Jim Carrey in the featuring job.
The film is schedules to be released on November 9th.
