UNLV And Other State Colleges May Transition To Online Classes
The Nevada System of Higher Education has asked its’ institutions to prepare to transition to remote or virtual classes by April 3. Those schools include, UNLV, UNR, State College of Nevada, and CSN. Concerns over the coronavirus prompted the request. UNLV President Marta Meana said the school will continue to monitor the situation over spring break, which begins on March 16. In other local developments, the National Association of Broadcasters has cancelled its’ annual convention which was scheduled for April here in Las Vegas. Also, the CinemaCon movie exhibition and trade show which was scheduled to begin in Vegas on March 30, has been cancelled as well. Also, the National Hockey League will announce today whether it will suspend the season. San Jose and Columbus have announced that if the season were allowed to continue, they would play their remaining home games with no fans in attendance. The Golden Knights are scheduled to play in Minnesota tonight.
