Former UNLV Hoopster Christian Wood Tests Positive For Coronavirus
Former UNLV basketball star Christian Wood has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Wood plays for the Detroit Pistons. Detroit played the Utah Jazz on March 7. A few days later, it was announced that Utah forward Rudy Gobert had tested positive for the coronavirus, followed a few days later by a positive test by teammate Donovan Mitchell. Wood and Gobert spent a large portion of that game guarding each other. All three players are in self isolation and each says that they feel fine. The NBA suspended the season within hours of the announcement of Gobert’s positive test. Wood was having a breakout season with Detroit and held his own against Gobert with 30 points and 11 rebounds. Wood will be a free agent at the official conclusion of the NBA season.
