Golden Knights Trade Marc-Andre Fleury To Chicago
It’s the end of an era for the Vegas Golden Knights as they traded goalie Marc-Andre Fleury to Chicago after four seasons. The move was not totally unexpected as the Knights signed goalie Robin Lehner to a long term deal before last season. Fleury won the Vezina Trophy this past season as the league’s top goalie. The move clears $7 million in cap space for the Knights as free agency approaches. Understandably, many fans were not happy to hear of the trade especially since word is that Fleury wasn’t directly informed of the trade and found out on Twitter. Fleury came to Vegas in the 2017 expansion draft after winning three Stanley Cups with Pittsburgh and led the Knights to the Stanley Cup finals in their inaugural season. The 36 year old Fleury won 117 games over his four seasons with Vegas and sits in third place on the NHL all time wins list.
