S E L E N A
Known as the “Queen of Tejano music,” Selena, was a trailblazer recording artist in the Latin and music community. The Texas-born artist started her music career in a family band with her two older siblings, A.B. Quintanilla III and Suzette Quintanilla called Selena Y Los Dinos. Around 1992, Selena ventured off to create her own solo projects. She won her first Grammy in 1994 at the 36 Grammy Awards for Best Mexican-American album, “Selena Live!” She has created many iconic hits since like, “No Me Queda Mas,” “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom,” and “Amor Prohibido.” She was multi-talented in that she created all of her stage outfits. She was often referred to as the “Mexican Modanna.” Her legacy, bubbly spirit, and music will forever live on with family, friends, and her dedicated fans.
