UNLV Football Falls To San Jose State, Still Winless
The UNLV Rebel football team is still winless under head coach Marcus Arroyo as it fell 27-20 on Thursday night to San Jose State in front of 19,300 fans at Allegiant Stadium.
The Rebels led 17-3 at one point in the second quarter but allowed San Jose State to score a touchdown with two seconds left in the half after UNLV running back Charles Williams fumbled.
Still, UNLV led 20-13 going into the fourth quarter but allowed the Spartans to score 14 points for the final margin. A last ditch drive to try and tie the game failed when UNLV quarterback Cameron Friel was sacked in the red zone.
UNLV fell to 0-7 with the loss and still hasn’t won a game under second year head coach Marcus Arroyo, dating back to last season.
The Rebels now face an even tougher task when they travel to Reno next Saturday to face in state in state rival UNR for the Fremont Cannon. The Wolfpack is playing good this season with a record of 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the Mountain West.
